Aerotech - Set 1 WIP 2 by Amuscaria Aerotech - Set 1 WIP 2 by Amuscaria
Putting down mechs and picking up aircraft for something new to learn. Since I've been working on Btech stuff for while, might as well use it to better my skills as it did with mechs. All of the following aircraft will be designed for Btech unless stated otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Amaterasu Interceptor - This is the first plane I've made for Btech. I've always had trouble drawing planes and helicopters, mostly due to a total lack of experience. The Amaterasu is a Draconis Combine Interceptor with 10/15 MP, weighs 35 tons, and is armed with 2 LPPCs, 2 ER Medium Lasers, 2 MML-3s, and 5 tons fuel. It's light on armor, but quite fast.

2. Uragan 3063 - Finally finished this after loads of homework. This is my first commissioned aircraft for the 3063 TRO. There will be another Vtol. The armament consists of a ER Large Laser, ER Small laser, ans 2 LRM-10s.

more to come whenever they're finished.

It's very clean and complex, but because all the lines are the same thickness the composition looks kinda flat and lifeless. Maybe it'll be more lively with color? =/

The Amaterasu reminds me a lot of the Vic Viper from Gradius.

I like it! I am sad to not see the Infighter or its original version though! :P I'm guessing they aren't coming since you are back to school.

I actually have it sketched. But I'm rather displeased with it. I wont be able to finish any commissions until, 1 my hard wood floors are installed and I actually have a scanner to send a preview, and 2 until my school work load eases up. :(

I would not worry too much about the vertical launch nature of the missiles - after all, their game effects are the same as any other SRM launcher. But placing the missiles so close to the engine intakes is... worrisome.

Quite a looker, really interesting form, not as boring as the usual "like a jet from today but with awesome lasercannons sticking out along the sides" and not as crude as many of the TRO designs that have been published.

Only thing i'm wondering about is the missile silo that doesn't shoot line-of-sight-wise... is it really possible according to the rules to design a BT aerospace fighter this way? (Of course you can also count the number of BT aerospace fighters that really fit to their descriptive fluff in respect to the number and type of their weapons so it shouldn't matter, it's just so unusual a design that i had to wonder about it ;))

Great work. If this is the BEGINNING of your improvement process i'm very excited to see the end!!!

At this point, im convinced that nothig in Btech is either practical and/or possible. I don't see a 100 ton plane that's only 15 feet long flying at hypersonic speeds within a atmosphere anytime soon. :P
