Battletech - Set 7 Complete by Amuscaria Battletech - Set 7 Complete by Amuscaria
Finally Completed the 7th set. This batch contains mechs of my own design, some reimagined TRO 3055 stuff, some commissions for the 3063 TRO, and other misc commissions by individuals.

NOTE: Mech's are NOT scaled.

Starting off, this is my own take on the "Daimyo" from the 3055. Came out a lot heavier looking than I originally wanted, but otherwise satisfactory. Some of the leg-parts look a bit bent, but too late to fix that now. :(
(EDIT: Scaled the Cockpit up so the mech looks smaller).

The second is a "Gallowglass" from the 3055 TRO. I moved one of the Large Lasers to the other side of the body to make the thing more physically balanced. Otherwise, it's the same thing.

The 3rd is a heavily redesigned custom "Cataphract" for the 3063 TRO. Kept the over layout from the original, but changed the form quite a bit. The 3063 variant carries a Gauss Rifle, a ER PPC, 2 ER Medium Lasers, and a medium Pulse Laser.

The 4th is the custom "Sentinel" for TRO-3063. It's been heavily modified from the original. It carries 4 ER medium lasers and 2 Light PPCs.

The 5th is the "Goryo"; something I sketched up months ago in class. Finally had the time to finish it up last night. It's a 50-ton clan mech with 2 ER PPCs, 4 ER med. lasers, and 2 LRM-5s (ammo: 1 ton). It's backed by 15 double heat sinks to keep the thing cool. It's a bit slow for it's size, afaik (6/9 movement).

The 6th is the redesign of one of my first BT mechs; the "Typhon" - original here: [link] Overall, it still looks like the old one, but it's been modified so it looks like the bigger version of the Goryo, to the left of it. Thanks to Solaris Skunk Works, this mech is now functional within the CBT game. It's a 95 ton clan mech with Gauss Rifle (ammo 2 tons), a UAC/20 (ammo 2 tons), 1 Heavy Large Laser, 1 LRM-20 w/ Artemis IV FCS (ammo: 2 ton), and 2 medium Pulse lasers and a head-mounted Active Probe. This is backed with 18 double heatsinks.

The Seventh is another of my own designs - the "Diablo"; a 70 ton IS 'mech. It's armed with an ER PPC, a Medium Pulse laser, a flamer (mouth), a 3-HMG array, 2 SRM-6s, and a Hatchet with TSM. This was one of those rare mechs that was drawn before the stats were created. Originally, it was going to be my fan-mech "the Draugr" but then it came out too blocky and I recycled the drawing for this instead.

The 8th is a custom Jenner for the 3063 TRO, and the last mech that I will work on for the project. Has 3 MRM-10s and 2 ER Medium lasers. There are some alignment problems with this one. But it's too late to fix it now. :(

The 9th is the "Aesir", a commissioned design based on the Blackhawk KU. Has a MML6 and 8 Medium Lasers, and a TAG. Fudgered up on the cockpit a bit, but oh well. :(

The 10th is the "Miko", a commissioned design. It's probably the strangest Battletech 'mech I've ever drawn, but that's because I've been asked to make it look like a miko (japanese shrine priestess). Definitely came out very japanese looking, but I guess it would be fitting for it's theme. It's made to look feminine for that purpose. It's a 80 ton 'mech with a ER PPC, LRM-15, SRM-4, ER Medium Laser, a C3 Master, Targeting Comp, some other stuff.

The 11th is a redrawing of the 3063 Nightsky I did mid last year. I felt like redoing it b/c the original looked like a piece of sh17.

The 12th and final one is the King-Sandman. A 100-ton big brother of the Shadow Hawk. It's armed with a RAC-5, 2 Medium Lasers, 2 ER PPCs, and a Jump Jet pack and search light (?). I noticed a design mistake on one of the ankles, but seems a bit late to fix that now. :(

Your technique for designing and drawing Mechs has increased drastically as time has gone by. These are so much more sophisticated than your previous works that there are scarcely words to describe how vast an improvement has been made.

This particular batch is very crisp, clean and visually appealing. These look like they could be illustrations for a model kits manual pretty easily. It's also pretty easy to imagine color and shading on these, they're geometry just lends itself to imagining the lighting.

Your line symmetry has definitely improved, there are far fewer mind bending angles than you had once upon a time. You just keep getting better, man.

Now THIS are great 'Mech designs! They have this distinctive Anime-style aesthetics, but they still feel bulky and heavy, as any good 'Mech must be. Amazing job, Eriance, congrats! :D

No, nothing like that! I just recieved one today and noticed how boring they can be. Jeez, why do peole do that? :(

No, its my new art post, a fanfic of BattleTech, and I posted your picture in the description because I imagine the Daimyo BattleMech as you reimagined it. Actually, I really like your Daimyo, and cant stand the original design. ;P

I'm also submiting it to the Mech-Warriors group. If its accepted, you will be able to see my story there, too. :)

And sorry for scaring you. :(

Your artwork makes my own digtal art look like amateur hour...and my parents and teachers are blown away with my art. My personnal favorites are the redesign of the Sentinel and the King Sandman.

I do have one technical complaint, more for the person who statted the Diablo than for you. The design does not produce heat in a fashion that makes the TSM viable.

To be honest, this page of 'Mech art is exactly why Battletech has fallen to the wayside in the past decade...

...because you aren't doing ALL of their artwork.

If someone walked into the local game store and picked a Battletech TRO and these are what the 'Mechs looked like, more people would be buying Battletech products.

Well done, Eriance, well done.

King Sandman?

*gets onto Solaris SkunkWerks*
Ohhhh niiiiice....

Would this stat list be close:
Move: 4/6/4 XL Engine
Compact Gyro (all 4 jumpjets in center torso)
14(28) DHS
19.0 tons of armor
Endo-Steel
Triple-Strength Myomer

Because if so, that's just flat evil. 2,758 Battle Value is just flat nuts for an Inner Sphere 'Mech.

Im really confused how the BV works. I've seen different numbers for the same configurations. A lot of mechs in the Btech wiki had much numbers than what I had in SSW. :/

Some of the stuff done in the wiki was with the old version of BV prior to the last two revisions. So some of the designs look WAY overpowered in BV, when they're really not. Or at least, not anymore. Its just that for some reason the ppl running the Btech wiki are a bit lazy about which formats they used.

BTW, completely off-topic:
For fun, attempt to use SSW to create some of the canon Armored Core designs. You'd be surprised how many actually can get built, and be really effective ones too.

Try the older AC games prior to 4 and For Answer. Some of the combinations can translate over, almost 1 for 1, into Battletech. That is, if you're interested (at least most of older PS ones you can find for like 9.99 now, which is how I picked all mine up).

Nice line art. Make me remember the game on CGA/VGA PC, back in 80's, there's a manual book for the game with similar line art. Too bad the book is gone.

YAY your finished! And you brought back the little old Jenner,to bad it wont survive against any of the new Mechs and such. Its armour is to weak right?

This is a custom version. I haven't any idea what the armor rating is. However it's firepower has been significantly improved over the old Jenner.

Now thats somthing everyone can see,but if im correct,a low powered Cougar or a Owens has enough fire power to distroy atleast three Jenners at the same time.

:iconcenturion13:
Centurion13 Featured By Owner Dec 23, 2009
The Owens is an Inner Sphere OmniMech which is not as well-armed nor as fast or even as well-armored as the Jenner II.

The Cougar is a Clan Mech. No more needs to be said. It is technologically superior - fine, if you want to be a munchkin. Otherwise it is reserved for the GM and would not normally encounter a Jenner II.

The Jenner II moves at 7/11(14) and has 96% of its maximum armor. Two standard lasers and three MRM-10s comprise the warload, and at a run the machine breaks even on heat.

Hmm well i guess thats true.By clan standards, all inner sphere mechs are crap.

Not so. They *are* better on a technical level, but there's a lot less variety and a Clan force is only as good as the player who is running it. I've seen many, many poor Clan players. The trouble is, they come to rely on their 'superior technology' and forget basic things like tactics.

I haven't played a Clan machine in a long time, maybe years, because the games are distressingly short. And in the end, all Clan machines have exactly the same nine points of armor in the head location - same as the IS. A headshot is a headshot

Yes yes thats true,i still have my Mechwarrior 4 Veng and i could tell from a young age to go with the clans. But i would rely on my tatics,Tech and my sheilds to win battles. I was very good up until 2002 when i cheated at a local Mechwarrior compition being held near my appartment complex, apreantly they have never heard of a flying Atlas that can only be stunned if you can knock its PPC and thunder bolt missles back into it.

There is no such thing as shields in the BattleTech I play. And 2002 was seven years ago. What are your more recent gaming experiences with the IS? The new stuff is quite good.
