Commission for :iconcenturion13:.

These are for the Classic Battletech 3063 Technical Readout book that's currently being worked on. All of these are either redesigns of old existing 'mechs or customized versions of existing ones. The 'mech specs have been designed by other people, i only came up with the images based on existing designs from the old books.

At last, the Champion has been liberated from shoddy artwork!

That is the only time I have ever seen a champion depicted in a way that made me say to myself 'wow, i would like to pilot that thing.'

your skills are wonderful!

Outstanding work, I would love to see a full technical readout done by you alone like Duane Loose's original work.
I would like to see the old Battledroid designs redrawn better but still keeping the original design intact. That they completely butchered the Gladiator and Battleaxe mechs pissed me off to no end in the new TRO.

I can't wait to see more.

Great stuff!
I wish all of the BT stuff could look this good (some mechs are just sad)

I think Battletech is technically now (c) by WizKid and Microsoft now that Fasa is long gone, Catalyst games should have all the details.

You are right, of course, but the Artist has little more to go on than older Technical Readouts, and those were produced back in the FASA days (and the FanPro days which followed).

Nevertheless, a fine job by a talented artist.

I was just being hyper technical, didn’t mean anything by it. BT has changed hands so many times it’s hard to keep track, I think the rights might be going to Topps soon so it's all kinda mute.

once again, awesome work.

The Champion's Gauss Rifle is in the wrong arm. Not to worry; I just switched the locations on the readout and changed the writeup in the appropriate places.

However, there are no more locations to dedicate to the lower arms and hands. Champions don't have them, and never did. Which is one reason they look a bit silly in the original art....

I will have to change the design to include hands and lower arms. There! It is short a ton and a half of armor, but is good to go.

Also, the Isometrus is named after a type of scorpion.

They all look very good, especially the Vulcan. Thank you!

YOu! You're funny. Yeah, inking the work took away those options, so I did the next best thing - I modified the design to match the art. Not the first time that has happened, believe me. We are good now.

I'm confused as to why they have fully articulated hands. most battletech stuff has a severe lack of that sort of thing, since arms with hands are used mostly as battering rams than anything.

I'm confused as to why you think they shouldn't.

just a thing about Battletech and the psuedo-realism it tries to play on. (even if they're wholey unrealistic as is.)

Nah, the newer versions have full articulation. You have to keep in mind that what you see will not be required to fully comply with the laws of physics, so it's cool.

The Vulcan VL-7M is unique among Vulcan variants in that it does, in fact, have hand actuators. It was designed that way due to its mission profile. Which is beating up on infantry and battle armor and even the occasional light 'Mech...

The Durendal is based on the Banshee chassis, a very old design which features fully-articulated hands even in the earliest art (by Duane Loose).

The Isometrus is a new design.

The Champion, as noted above, is the latest variant and has been outfitted with hands because it seemed like a good idea to the fellows at Comstar.

Oh, you revamped the Champion and Vulcan? They look alot better than the official designs (always thought the Champion was a scrapped aerospace idea that the designers stuck a pair of awkward legs on for fun).

I definately like your versions over the original art. These make me want to 3D model these mechs, I may just do that using your pics for reference...
